A Wedding Photographers’ Guide to Choosing Your Wedding Photographer
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS
1 – My first suggestion is to take a good look at the Photographers’ portfolio. I’m not talking about their highlight reel either. Ask to view an entire gallery from one couples’ wedding and look to see if their work is consistent. Take a good look at ALL of the weddings on their website too. If it’s obvious that the same photographer took all of the photos, then advance to step 2.
2 – Our second recommendation is to avoid choosing a Wedding Photographer whose work doesn’t move you. Wedding Photographers’ see and capture the world in a way that is truly unique to them. If their images don’t resonate with you, than don’t book them. Simple. If you can see yourself in the images that you’re looking at, then you’re onto something.
3 – Once you’ve made a shortlist, take some time out to meet with the Wedding Photographers’ you’re considering. People are time poor, I get it. However, if you really are serious about finding the right photographer, this next step is a must. Call or email the wedding photographers’ that have caught your eye. If a face-to-face meeting isn’t possible, than go for the next best thing – Skype. Skype is free, and it’s a way to connect with your photographer even if they live on the other side of the world. Believe me, it won’t take you long to work out if they are (or aren’t) a good fit.
Remember this is a once-in-a-lifetime decision. This might sound cliche too, but I really do care that you find the right photographer for you. Happy Planning and remember that ‘Love is an Adventure’. For more Wedding Planning Related tips head here: ‘TIPS FOR COUPLES GETTING MARRIED‘
